“We saw Myanmar army’s helicopter flying toward Lungkhar mountain. We could even hear the sound of gunship firing,” said a Hakha resident who requested to conceal his identity for security reason.

The combined forces of the Chin National Army (CNA) and Chinland Defense Forces (CDF) said they did not suffer any casualties during the airstrike, claiming they captured some weapons and ammunition from the junta’s soldiers.

CNA and CDF have controlled Hakha-Thantlang road since August 2021, making it impossible for the junta army to dispatch overland reinforcement and military supplies to Thantlang town.
